Katikati - lime or what?? When we happened to be in Auckland at Sandra's host parents Jane, Gilly's sister met, we could not even imagine what would result from its invitation to Kati Kati: two exceptional days that us after months of traveling again hard work bestowed! Jane lives on a farm where all kinds of fruits are grown. After the three children grown and her husband unfortunately passed away recently, she was happy about our company, and in particular about it that we get things done with relish!
For us it was a welcome change to press us physically. So we picked two days for Auckland lime cocktail bars, buckets. The lemon trees hung between the ripe yellow lemons every now distributed randomly, the small green limes, which you put you in the cocktail. Did you know the lemon trees have thorns? Picking has full of fun. At the end of the day smell the battered hands after limes and lemons.
We took the same course with a few, plus a few oranges, and made fun acidic fresh juices in the kitchen. The house, which had built Janes husband 30 years ago for themselves and their families was incredible and I feel a kind of New Zealand paradise, with plenty of room, swimming pool on the veranda, a lake behind the house and an incredible view over Fields and mountains, full of cows and horses, to the horizon ...

On the second day Jane took us to reward with a great tour, and showed us a wild waterfall, a tourist gets to see otherwise, since it is private land. To this end, we ran through wild jungle to visit an ancient and huge Kauribaum! Great experiences. For this, the grand dinner at which they still einludt a German friend who brought out their best opportunity in Schwaebisch! Delicious.
The departure we did somehow sorry, on the one hand, we had fun, on the other hand, Jane has to maintain it very hard, all alone this great piece of earth, and to manage (she works here as a teacher at the village school). If any of you, or someone cute, you know is interested in this, to help the New Zealand trip, we give you their contact details - to recommend it!
