Kaikoura is situated between picturesque snow-capped mountains and deep blue sea. But in Kaikoura to do only one thing: Whale Watching. That's what we did. 
The next morning, after a pleasant evening in an Irish pub, we went on the boat that life presents to us for 3 hours the most beautiful animals. On our trip we saw 3 whales (sperm whales) who come to breathe for about 5 minutes to the water surface, and then to dive for 45 minutes, many dolphins and seals, the alert went through the water. 
Especially in Kaikoura, there are so many whales all year round, reached as soon as the coast, the sea has a depth of about 1000m, is an ideal territory for whales. On the boat there were educational and interesting information about all living things-to-find spot. Highly recommended. 
On the way back to the place we did not take the bus, but made a nice hike, which led to the hill and later along the coast directly over. There we saw seals and sheep, sheep and sheep ... Then it was back in the Irish
